Woodlands County is a thriving area located approximately 170 kilometres northwest of Edmonton. The primary industries within the region include forestry, oil and gas, and agriculture. Woodlands County encompasses a beautiful, natural landscape that is extremely appealing for the outdoor enthusiast. It is growing rapidly, and has a current population of over 4,100 people.

  Do you think you can sing? Audition for Whitecourt Idol!

Whitecourt Idol is being held once again at the annual Party in the Park on the September long weekend. The event, co-hosted by Woodlands County and the Town of Whitecourt, is a two-day event this year filled with musical talent and tasty cuisine.  Do you have your passport yet?

Woodlands County has spearheaded the Passport to Alberta's Community Icons. Twenty-four communities across Alberta are featured in the passport. Launched in partnership in with Travel Alberta, this project will boost tourism to communities which have the World's Largest, Canada's Largest and just some plain unique icons. That's not all! Travellers who visit the most icons featured in the passport (and get the passport stamped) can win up to $500! It's a way to thank visitors for spending their tourism dollars in Alberta. Vitel Consulting Inc. was awarded a contract by Woodlands County to conduct a survey regarding internet and cellphone coverage. Vitel is conducting an Alberta-wide survey, which includes Woodlands County, to see what speeds of Internet are available in various areas of the province. To take the survey click HERE.
